Every workplace needs a safety lead.

Every workplace in the country has to manage WHS law, risk and incident response, and somebody has to own it. This skill set gives you the five units employers look for when they hire that person, with no prior safety experience needed.

Safety skills travel. Logistics and warehousing, manufacturing, healthcare and aged care, events, mining, government, retail and utilities all hire safety staff, and all five units credit straight into the BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety when you want to go further.

I've started the course, and it's well put together. It's much more in-depth than other programs. I'll definitely recommend it!

5 units. Your pace.

5 nationally recognised units taken straight from the BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, all online, all on your phone or laptop. You get up to 5 months, and most students wrap it up well before that by knocking over a unit at a time.

How much time?

2 focused hours a week builds strong momentum.

Fit it around shifts, uni or a full-time job, or knock over a unit in one solid weekend session. Consistency beats intensity, and our local team is with you the whole way.

Curriculum

Built around real WHS tasks.

WHS law and compliance, consultation and participation, risk management, WHS management systems and incident response. Every unit maps to something a safety officer is asked to do in week one.

  • Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws BSBWHS412
  • Contribute to implementing WHS management systems BSBWHS415
  • Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes BSBWHS413

Common questions.

Because the legal stakes changed and the workforce did not keep up. Industrial manslaughter is now a criminal offence in every Australian state and territory, carrying jail time for individuals and multi-million dollar penalties for organisations. The moment a director can personally go to prison, safety stops being a clipboard function and becomes a board-level obligation, and boards buy capability.

At the same time psychosocial risk became legally enforceable across the country, which effectively doubled the scope of the job overnight. Employers now need people who can handle both the physical and the psychological side, and there is a shortage of them at the entry level, which is exactly where you enter.

Ready when you are.
